Steps
- 1Spoon the yogurt into a bowl and whisk in the lemon juice, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- 2Add water or milk one teaspoon at a time until the dressing is thin enough to drizzle but still clings to a vegetable.
- 3Taste it after 5 minutes of resting. The dried herbs need time to hydrate before you decide whether it needs more seasoning.
- 4Use it as a dip, drizzle it over potatoes, or spread it inside a wrap. Refrigerate covered and use within 4 days.
- 5Stir before each use. If it thickens in the refrigerator, loosen it with another teaspoon of water.
Grit & Soul tip
Fat-free yogurt is naturally tangier than bottled ranch. Lemon and a tiny pinch of salt balance it better than adding extra sweetener.

The memory belongs below the recipe.
This swaps a creamy bottled dressing base for fat-free yogurt while keeping the herbs and garlic that make ranch recognizable.
Grit & Soul keeps the cooking directions easy to reach first. The story still matters, but it should never make someone scroll forever before they can cook.
