Steps
- 1Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring it to a full boil over high heat.
- 2Add the pasta, stir immediately, and cook for the package time until tender but still slightly firm. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- 3While the pasta cooks, blend the marinara, cottage cheese, Parmesan, garlic powder, and red pepper until smooth.
- 4Pour the blended sauce into a skillet over low heat. Warm it gently for 3 to 4 minutes; do not let it boil or the cottage cheese may separate.
- 5Add the drained pasta and toss. Add reserved pasta water one tablespoon at a time until the sauce coats the noodles.
- 6Taste, adjust salt, and finish with basil and a small sprinkle of Parmesan if desired.
Grit & Soul tip
Blend first, then warm gently. High heat is the main reason cottage-cheese pasta sauce turns grainy.

The memory belongs below the recipe.
This is a Grit & Soul remake of creamy pasta: cottage cheese supplies body and protein while marinara keeps the sauce bright.
Grit & Soul keeps the cooking directions easy to reach first. The story still matters, but it should never make someone scroll forever before they can cook.
